Why are there so many cookie notices appearing now?	In 2012, an amendment was introduced to Article 22.2 of the Law on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSICE) of 2002. Until then, it was assumed that websites notified users about the use of cookies within texts included under headings such as “Legal Notice,” “Conditions of Use,” “Terms of Use,” or “Data Protection Policy.” However, this was deemed insufficient. Following the 2012 amendment, it was established that the user must consent to the use of cookies after being duly informed of the purposes for which they are used.
